Kiwi...fruit, bird, horse, shoe polish, or New Zealander?

As many of you know or don't know, I'm going to New Zealand to study abroad at the University of Auckland for Spring '09. I created this blog to document my days at New Zealand because my masculinity would be challenged (by myself) if I kept any sort of diary. Diaries are for girls. And people who have no internet. And diarrhea is disgusting. Even though I am a hypocrite and have expressed my resentment for the growing trend of personal blogs, I feel like going to New Zealand will be the best experience of my life besides tending to my Money Tree. I want to be able to remember most, if not all, of the trip.

*Side note: It's a real tree. Pachira aquatica. The lady at the flea market told me that the Chinese call it a Money Tree. She also just wanted my two dollars. Too bad I can't take care of it when I'm in New Zealand.*

And I'm doing some sort of community service, I think. I'm using a service that the online community provides. Regardless, I'm excited to meet some Kiwis. The shoe polish. And the people too, I guess.
