The Chinese in Auckland put on a lantern festival every year for Chinese New Years to make Auckland aware of their culture. A huge amount of kiwis were at the event enjoying the food and festivities. This is truly an accepting culture. I have never seen Americans appreciate something so different with as much enthusiasm and as little ridicule as the New Zealanders. Although I've never cared about being accepted anywhere, it genuinely feels okay to be different here in this country, and Auckland is even supposed to be the "pretentious" part of NZ. I love it. More than I love disgusting things on the internet and pedophile jokes.

wassup ho?
